The Eucharist and how it influences the daily lives of Christians
The Eucharist is a big influence in the daily lives of Catholics. Many try to follow the major themes of the Eucharist throughout their lives as they believe that following them is the best way to serve God. Christians see how Jesus sacrificed himself on the Cross for us, and we try to sacrifice ourselves for others, just as he did. Thanksgiving influences our lives as the thankful person lives by the grace of God, therefore many Christians choose to be thankful towards each other as it brings us closer to Christ. The presence of God influences our daily lives as when we are in the presence of God, we feel safe. Being in the presence of God can help us through hard times, and many turn to God for help. Christians incorporate God into our meals by praying to Him before we eat. We thank him for giving us the meal and sacrificing himself for us. We also partake in receiving the Holy Eucharist on a weekly basis at Mass. Memorial influences our lives as we not only remember Jesus, but we remember others in our lives who have passed away. Remembering Jesus helps us to remember others and pray for their salvation.
Our lives are not only influenced by the themes of the Eucharist, but the liturgical actions and symbols that we see during mass. Many Christians have small crucifixes or pictures of Mary and Jesus in their homes, to help them to remember Jesus on a daily basis and what he did for us. We also pray regularly (e.g. every night) so we can ask for God's blessing/help or for thanking Him for the lives He has given us.
